Research

My PhD research has focused on the transformation of corporate governance regulation in the European Union. This project is part of the research programme on 'The Transnational Political Economy of Corporate Governance Regulation' at the ARCCGOR. I have started my project in April 2004 and defended my PhD thesis in January 2009. My dissertation is titled 'The Transformation of Corporate Governance Regulation in the European Union - Towards a Marketisation of Corporate Control'.

Activities

I am a member of the Critical Political Economy Research Network of the European Sociological Association, as well as the British International Studies Association.

I am also a member of the IPE club, a cooperation between PhD students of the University of Amsterdam and the Vrije Universiteit. We meet every other week in the semester and disucss each other's work in progress. On 19 June 2009 we are organising the third IPE PhD workshop at the Vrije Universiteit.

Education

I've studied political science, English and history at the University of Freiburg and then went on to study political science at the University of Newcastle. I graduated in 2003 with an MA in International Political Economy (with distinction); my MA thesis was based on a poststructuralist reconceptualisation of Civil Society and Global Finance.
