About Us

The Amsterdam Research Centre for Corporate Governance Regulation (ARCCGOR for short) is located within the Department of Political Science at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Free University Amsterdam). The Research Centre was founded in May 2004 by Dr. Henk Overbeek (programme leader), Dr. Bastiaan van Apeldoorn and Dr. Andreas Nölke in order to further the knowledge on corporate governance regulation.

Moreover, the Research Centre provides a forum for academic interaction between scholars from various institutions and should enhance the visibility of research on corporate governance regulation to the wider public.

Through three PhD projects which comprise the empirical focus of the Centre’s research programme, together with an affiliated PhD project, the researchers at the Centre seek to explain the current transformations of corporate governance regulation.

The research programme is funded by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research’s (NWO) Shifts in Governance programme and the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Currently, the Research Centre comprises three senior and four junior researchers. Please click here for more information on each researcher.
